Nissan released its new breed V35 Skyline in June 2001. Apart from the 3.5 litre VQ35DE (NEO) V6 engine along with the new elegant design and luxury options, there are a range of enhancements over it’s predecessor such as the E-VTC (electro-magnetic variable valve timing control), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) replacing the old HICAS system using sensors to reduce over/under-steer by applying brake pressure or cutting power from individual wheels, Nissan's newly developed direct-fuel-injection system for improved responses and better fuel economy, redesigned suspension to help reduce shock absorption by 75% increasing tyre contact with the road and improving the quality of your journey and zero-lift aerodynamics for progressive acceleration and strong low to midrange torque.
There are also certain weight enhancements such as the engine placement being behind the front axle, an aluminium bonnet and the petrol tank located under the rear seat.
